As part of inspections aimed at monitoring the conservation and efficient use of water resources, the employees of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body (EPMIB) have detected cases of illegal water use.
In the village of Novoseltsovo, Lori Province, fish farmer V.B., without possessing a water use permit, illegally extracted water from a nearby surface water source.
In the village of Goght, Kotayk Province, G.G. used water from a tributary of the Azat River for fish farming purposes without the required authorization.
In the village of Noramarg, Ararat Province, A.H. also carried out illegal water use for fish farming by pumping water from a drainage system without the necessary permit.
By the decisions of the heads of the EPMIB’s territorial divisions in Lori, Kotayk, and Ararat, the illegal use of surface water resources has been halted.
Administrative fines of 200,000 AMD each have been imposed on the violators.
