Preparations for COP17 in Armenia Discussed – The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body

Today, Deputy Head of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, Vrezh Galoyan, participated in the closing workshop of the program implemented by the Ministry of Environment titled “Early Action Support in the Context of the Global Biodiversity Framework.”

The program aimed to assist Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity in preparing and implementing early actions under the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework. It included reviewing national targets, biodiversity strategies, monitoring, and financing systems, with financial and technical support provided.

During the workshop, completed work, national goals, and targets were presented. Panel discussions emphasized the importance of strategic biodiversity planning and the preparatory work for COP17 to be held in Armenia, within the context of sectoral cooperation and effective implementation of the national strategy.
