On October 8–9, Deputy Head of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, Vrezh Galoyan, conducted a working visit to several communities in Kotayk and Gegharkunik regions, where he held meetings with major business entities operating in the sector.
The purpose of the meetings was to enhance transparency in monitoring processes, reduce environmental damage, strengthen awareness of legislative requirements, and develop effective formats for public-private cooperation.
During the meetings, discussions covered efficient use of water and soil resources, management of emissions and waste, compliance with hunting regulations, and adherence to EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) procedures and permit conditions.
Business representatives raised several current issues regarding permit durations, reporting mechanisms, and the processes of inspection activities.
Mr. V. Galoyan assured that the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body remains open to constructive cooperation and is ready to provide sectoral guidance within the framework of preventive oversight.
