Earlier, it was reported that the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body had initiated administrative proceedings in connection with an event held at the Shaki Waterfall, a hydrogeological natural monument and specially protected natural area.
As a result of joint operative measures carried out by the staff of the Syunik Regional Division of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body and the Sisian Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police, it was revealed that on October 5 of this year, Sisian resident A.O. used a food-grade coloring agent to tint the waterfall during a private gender-related celebration.
Within the framework of the initiated administrative proceedings, water samples were collected for laboratory testing. If changes in water quality are detected, the damage caused to water resources will be calculated accordingly.
Citizen A.O. has been subjected to administrative liability for violating the regime of a specially protected natural area.
