Operation of Concrete Batching and Gravel Crushing Plants Suspended in Yerevan

The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia has conducted an inspection of Metta Group LLC, a company engaged in construction and the sale of construction materials in Yerevan.

The inspection revealed that the company was operating a concrete batching plant and a gravel crushing facility without the legally required permit for the emission of hazardous substances into the atmosphere from stationary sources.

As a result, by decision of the Head of the Yerevan Territorial Department of The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, the operation of the company’s concrete production, gravel crushing, and grinding activities has been suspended.

An administrative fine in the amount of 300,000 AMD was imposed on the company.

In addition, a claim for compensation for environmental damage has been initiated.
