An expanded working consultation was held under the leadership of Mr. Hovhannes Martirosyan, Head of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia. The meeting was attended by Deputy Heads Mr. Vrezh Galoyan, Mr. Vagharshak Amirkhanyan, and Mr. Levon Levonyan, as well as the heads of structural and territorial subdivisions.
The purpose of the consultation was to review the activities undertaken during the first half of 2025. The agenda included the presentation of results from both scheduled and unscheduled inspections, preventive and oversight measures, statistics on administrative proceedings and suspensions, the status of ongoing legislative reforms, and other relevant matters.
Particular emphasis was placed on enhancing the effectiveness of activities aimed at detecting and preventing illegal subsoil use, safeguarding water, land, and forest resources, and mitigating atmospheric air pollution.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of strengthening internal mechanisms, including improvements to educational programs, the advancement of professional competencies, the capacity for prompt response to public reports and alerts, and the enforcement of standards of ethical conduct.
In conclusion, Mr. Martirosyan issued a series of mandatory directives aimed at further increasing the efficiency and responsiveness of the Inspection Body and expressed his appreciation for the substantial volume of work accomplished during the reporting period.
