At the initiative of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, a discussion meeting was held today with active citizens and representatives of environmental non-governmental organizations. The event aimed to address environmental challenges and promote public cooperation.
In the spirit of transparency and accountability, the Head of the Inspection Body, Mr. Hovhannes Martirosyan, presented the results of supervisory activities conducted during 2022–2024, issues raised through public alerts, and the steps taken toward legal and regulatory improvements.
Throughout the meeting, participants raised a wide range of pressing environmental concerns, including issues related to mining, water resources, wildlife protection, deforestation, landfills, construction sites, and air pollution. Possible solutions to these issues were actively discussed.
Held in a constructive atmosphere over the course of nearly four hours, the meeting highlighted the importance of organizing such regular discussions. These interactions serve to strengthen transparent dialogue between state institutions and the public, reinforce public trust, and enhance the overall effectiveness of environmental oversight.
