Deputy Head of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body, Mr. Vrezh Galoyan, held a consultation with representatives from the Ministry of Environment, the Urban Development, Technical Standards and Fire Safety Inspection Body, and the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The meeting focused on emissions and related issues arising from the operation of charcoal production facilities located near forests, residential areas, and highways.
It was emphasized that, in order to prevent forest fires, reduce the presence of heavy smoke in residential areas, and manage the risks associated with reduced visibility on roads due to smoke density, legislative amendments are necessary.
To address the problem, Mr. V. Galoyan proposed that in the near future concrete solutions be submitted for the development of a draft legislative amendment, incorporating improved tools, targeted strategies, and clearly defined approaches.
