Lessee in “Sevan” National Park Causes Environmental Damage of 3.2 Million AMD – EPMIB

Employees of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body have recorded environmental violations within the specially protected area of the “Sevan” National Park.

In the territory of the former “Tapan” restaurant, located on the right side of the Sevan–Tsovagyugh–Dilijan highway, a lessee, carried out unauthorized leveling and stone-filling works outside the area under his lease – namely, on 765 sq. m of shoreline and 3,851 sq. m of Sevan Lake water area.

The environmental damage has been calculated at 3,244,086 AMD.

Based on the administrative proceedings, a report on the apparent criminal offense has been submitted to the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia.
