During supervisory measures aimed at the protection of water resources, employees of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body have identified multiple cases of illegal water use in various regions of the Republic of Armenia.
In the town of Tashir, Lori Region, H.M., engaged in fish farming, used surface water resources without the required permit. In the settlement of Marmarashen, Ararat Region, “MERI-FISH” LLC illegally extracted water from a deep well without authorization.
As a result, H.M. was fined 200,000 AMD, while the responsible official of “MERI-FISH” LLC was fined 2,000,000 AMD.
In the town of Vagharshapat, Armavir Region, “EJMIATSIN BERNAUGHEVORATAR AVTOTRANSPORT” LLC illegally extracted water from a deep well for gas station cooling purposes without a water use permit. The damage caused to water resources amounts to 626,994 AMD, and a report on a suspected criminal offense has been submitted to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Additionally, in the settlements of Armavir, Jrarat, Hatsik, Lukashin, and Haykavan, 13 citizens illegally operated a total of 13 deep wells for irrigation and domestic purposes without water use permits.
By decisions of the heads of the Lori, Ararat, and Armavir territorial divisions of the Inspection Body, all identified cases of illegal water use have been suspended.
