On November 24, at approximately 12:15 p.m., the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body (EPMIB) received a report from the Crisis Management National Center of the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia regarding a predatory bird found helpless by a citizen on Batikyan Street, Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan.
As a result of response activities, it was established that the citizen had discovered a wounded wild bird of the “Greater Spotted Eagle” (Clanga clanga) species, which is listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Armenia.
On the same day, at approximately 1:00 p.m., EPMIB officers transferred the bird to the rehabilitation clinic of the Yerevan Zoo for treatment and rehabilitation.
Following recovery, the endangered eagle will be released back into the wild.
