The Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body received a report from the Yeghegnadzor Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Police concerning the discovery of bird and animal meat in the trunk of a Toyota vehicle.
An administrative proceeding was initiated within the Inspection Body, during which it was revealed that Yerevan residents S.H. and A.A. had illegally hunted 74 grey partridges and 4 brown hares in the administrative area of the village of Gnishik, Vayots Dzor region.
The meat of the illegally hunted birds and hares was confiscated and handed over to Military Unit No. N of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia.
The hunting weapons — “IZH-27” and “YILTIZ” models — used in the illegal hunting were also seized. Confiscation claims for these weapons will be submitted to the court.
A claim for compensation of 402,000 AMD has been submitted for the environmental damage caused. Administrative penalties will be applied against the offenders.
