Illegal Water Abstraction Detected in Lori: EPMIB Suspends Fish Farm Operations

Employees of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia (EPMIB) have detected a case of illegal water abstraction from a surface water resource in the administrative area of Shenavan settlement, Spitak community, Lori Province.

Citizen M.D., engaged in fish farming, had been obtaining the water required for the operation of the fish farm from the nearby Shenavan stream without a water use permit issued by the authorized body in accordance with the established procedure.

By decision of the Head of the Lori Territorial Division, the operation of the fish farm has been suspended, and the plastic pipelines supplying water to the fish farm have been sealed.
