In 2026, as a result of inspections and monitoring carried out by the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia (EPMIB) using digital tools and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), 81 cases of illegal subsoil use and concealment of extracted volumes were identified.
Of these, 24 cases were identified during inspections of companies holding subsoil use rights, while 57 cases were identified within the framework of administrative proceedings initiated by the Inspection Body.
The total concealed volume of illegally extracted non-metallic minerals identified across the 81 cases amounted to 3,884,321.8 cubic meters.
In the 57 cases identified within the framework of administrative proceedings initiated by the Inspection Body, the calculated environmental damage amounted to AMD 254,914,192.7.
In all of the above-mentioned cases, reports of suspected criminal offenses were submitted to law enforcement authorities for further legal proceedings.
Based on the recorded extraction volumes, the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia calculated the damage caused to the state at AMD 1,395,393,017.
