Administrative Proceedings Initiated by EPMIB over Pollution in the Kari Lake Area

Based on photographs and videos circulated online and in the media on 15 August concerning accumulated waste in the area of Kari Lake, located on the slopes of Mount Aragats, the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia has initiated administrative proceedings.

Additional information will be provided to the public upon completion of the proceedings.

At the same time, we remind that, under the relevant provisions of the RA Law “On Local Self-Government”, the community is responsible for organizing waste collection and sanitary cleaning, as well as exercising the authority to impose administrative liability in cases prescribed by law.
